Recycling
I truly believe that if we want to positively affect the world, and advance the technology in different areas, we have to start looking at the current global concerns, such as garbage. At this century, most countries and nations have well established industries responsible for different consuming products, but what most forget to do, is to have a plan of what to do with those materials after being used. The most common of those materials are plastic, aluminum and glass. In this text, I'll share a few ideas of what we can do with plastic, aluminum, and waste food.
After analyzing the different types of renewable energy currently available, I noticed that the CSP "concentrated solar panels", are a viable switch and very close operation system compared with the current energy generation, which involves burning coil, oil or other gases to generate steam to spin turbines. So instead of using carbon fuels, why not use mirrors to reflect the sun into a focal point, to create the heat to drive turbines? And you know what's the best of it? We can use aluminum cans to make those mirrors.

For information about how to use waste food please check the agriculture page.
PS: I know that this process involves burning, which creates CO2 that is harmful for the environment. However, the CO2 produced by this process doesn't have to get thrown in the atmosphere. It can be used for many industrial, chemical, and pharmaceutical applications involving refrigeration, cooling and others.
An idea that already exists is using plastics to make roads. This system started in India, and has been engineered by Toby McCartney, founder of MacRebur.
The point of these three ideas is to stop the waste, and use those resources in the most beneficial way. I believe the reason recycling hasn't really grasped our attention is because humans like to invest in things that bring capital, and recycling sounded more like saving the planet and probably spend some money in the process. But if we use them in a way that can exponentially benefit us in the present, we'll be helping not only ourselves but the planet as well. We need electricity, and nothing sounds better than using cans to make CSP. We need good roads, let's use plastic to make them. We have everything we need, materials, ideas, technology, so why not do it? This is our planet, and it's our duty to take care of it, so we can keep benefiting the amazing things that it has to offer us.
